Post-Script

Sunday afternoon 3:18pm. Stylista Fashionista gets news of American Apparel's 'Rummage' sale at 519 King West until 7pm. The deal is that all clothes are up to 85% off and that nothing is priced over 50 bones. We're talking $80 oversized metallic totes for $15. Heaven on Earth right? Clearly a no-brainer here....I hop on the subway and go check it out. The lineup is worse than I had imagined. An hour and a half passes by while standing outside in the line....did I mention it was pouring rain? And teenage girls are running rampant? Wah Wah Wah. So. I finally get inside, check my drenched coat and head towards the open doors at the end of the neverending hallway (at this point I'm convinced this is what Dorothy felt like when she was approaching the Wizard of Oz).........aaaaaand...............just like in the movie, the sale was not at all what it was cracked up to be. In fact, I would plainly say it sucked. Only visors, ridiculously damaged "goods" and neon terry cloth waffle shirts-(is that fabric even possible?). So before your blood boils because I didnt post a notice about the sale just remember 2 things: 1) I promise to post a note the next time I get word of a crazy sale, and 2) This sale was honestly a joke, so consider yourself lucky for not wasting your time, hopes and dry clothes. The end.

Walk on Stylista Fashionistas, walk on.

Comin' at ya hard off the mean streets of style. Represent.

Why the F not?

Go ahead girls.....have a little fun.....take a chance.....do something wiiiiild.

New John Mayer Album Drops....

On November 17th, John Mayer released his fifth studio album titled 'Battle Studies.' During a live performance in June of 2009, Mayer explained that "The album is called 'Battle Studies' because it incorporates a lot of lessons, a lot of observations, and a little bit of advice...like a handbook, like a heartbreak handbook." It's nice to have you back, John.

Michael K.

If you're a sneaker junkie like me, or just one to appreciate the world of street style in a geniously constructed visual merchandising atmosphere, be sure to check out 'Michael K'. This 22,000-square-foot store in Manhattan's Soho district is comprised of 22 individual boutiques all under one grand roof. Popular urban labels include the likes of Nike, Ben Sherman, Converse and North Face, to name a few. Did I mention the store has a vending machine that vends shoes? Ay Caramba.

Just to ensure that we are all on the same page here, I'm gona throw in some additional Balmain looks in order to solidify this designer's ingenious approach to contemporary fashion...

My Fashion Favorite: The Nautical Theme

Classic... Conservative... Navy...
As the weather cools down, remember those summer nights with bold stripes, preppy boyfriend blazers and relaxed-fit trousers. Really 'anchor' your look by throwing on a pair of studded ankle boots or an over-sized bow headband. Happy sailing!
