William Rast x Target

Not that anyone reeeally cares, but for the sake of fashion news I thought I should mention the following equations:

Justin Timberlake + his childhood boy Trace Ayala = William Rast

William Rast x Target(December 2o10) = Targets latest diffusion line

The line will debut on December 19, 2010 and will remain in Target stores and at http://www.target.com/ through January 22, 2011.

Raise Up, TO Style

Although the Rooftop Lounge at the Thompson Hotel is not open to the general public, I wanted to take a moment to share the panoramic bliss seen from atop this member/hotel guests-only hang out.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

vestacular

We all know that a great denim vest can do wonders for our wardrobes. However, the question remains as to why does this classic piece seems to only be available in the dichotomous markets of either high-end designers or second-hand retailers?

After postponing my purchase as a result of this seemingly inconvenient truth, I luckily (and nonchalantly) came across this gold ticket vest! Finally my prayers were answered in the form of a middle-market option for us fair-priced but still new vest-seekers out there.

At a sale price of $20.00 (originally $35) I highly encourage y'all to head over to your local Dynamite (believe it or not) and pick up this amazing steal.

Je Deteste.

Seeing as how this is my own personal fashion forum (kind of an "it's my party and I'll cry if I want to" idea), I would like to get something off my chest..

Tunics worn together with leggings is a horendous look. Ladies, you are not fooling anyone by trying to avoid showing too much leg by slapping on some opaque spandex leg-huggers. The truth is tunics (the name itself annoys me) should either be worn solo as a babydoll dress idea -or, preferably, NOT AT ALL.

Uchhh. Fashion crimes people, fashion crimes.

The Jegging Files

Whoever proclaimed that fashion & comfort are of mutually exclusive origins, was clearly not familiar with the jegging. If you have not yet become acquainted with this wonderful innovation, it is time for your formal introduction.

The term jegging emerged after the recent marriage between jeans + leggings; hence the wonderous jegging was born.
The reason why jeggings are such a hit with the female consumer is because of their concealed superpower. The jeggins harbors the look of a regular pair of denim jeans, but also has the secret comfort of leggings as a result of the elastic waistband and stretchy jegging material. This way you can literally have your cake and eat it too (without having to pop open that top button) - by achieving the look you want without sacrificing an ounce of comfort. Pure genious if you ask me.
What's even more fantastic is my fashion buddy Tia Star is selling these puppies online (http://www.tiastar.com/) at the more-than-comfortable price of $29 CDN.
The jegging is currently available in 3 washes: basic black, dark blue denim, black with white acid wash & light blue with white acid wash (all displayed in order of listed wash, below)

Skeletal Done Right

I think this is an unbelievably amazing look. The key to wearing it right is to sport a skin-coloured bodysuit & shorts or a slip-style tube dress under the skeleton dress to keep the look k-to-the-osher.

By the way, is anyone else getting a DIY idea from this look? Hmmm.....it could def be done.

Chanel Iman

75% African American + 25% Korean = 100% Stylista Fashionista

J BRAND = JIANT FAILURE

Disclaimer: Don't be fooled by the attractive advertising campaign.

I want to share with y'all my latest gripe with the wonderful world of fashion...

I purchased my first pair of ballin'-out jeggings in May. The label (FYI) was J BRAND.

Now the reason why I am dropping the brand name is not to promote, but to deeee-mote.

Here's why....

The jeggings ran me $170 before tax - which wasn't too bad of a price considering the endless hours of stylish comfort I imagined them providing.

Boy was I wrong.

After less than 10 wears (no joke my friends) - my jeggings developed some pretty ridiculous/pathetic/sizeable holes in the inner-thigh area. Now I know what you may be thinking right about now..."maybe our beloved stylista fashionista is workin with some serious thunder thighs?" To that valid question I answer you all an honest "no".

Basically the moral of this fashion story is: do yourself and your bank account a favour and say NO to J Brand jeggings.

They are crap and they will rip you off in more ways than one...ya heard.
